David Scott Stowe is a Quartz Hill, California-based acrylic artist
whose paintings explore the timeless beauty of the natural world and the emotional pull of memory, family, and home.
His work captures the delicate dance between serenity and strength—each piece a quiet reflection of the landscapes that shaped his soul.
David paints in layers, using acrylics to build light, depth, and texture that mirror the rugged yet peaceful terrain of the Mojave Desert where he grew up. His technique blends realism with dreamlike softness, giving his work an approachable, nostalgic feel. Each brushstroke is guided by intuition, story, and heart.
At its core, David’s work revolves around honoring the everyday sacredness of life —the quiet trails, golden hills, and wide skies that echo moments of stillness, reflection, and love.
Before embracing painting full-time, David’s journey wound through service in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman with the Marines, a career in healthcare, and even roles on stage and screen. But it was a deeply personal family experience—the fight for his daughter Cheyanne’s life—that led him back to art. During her miraculous recovery, he discovered painting not only as a creative outlet, but a spiritual one.
Inspired by a visit to a Thomas Kinkade gallery and supported by his ever-encouraging mother, David returned to the canvas. His first piece, a simple recreation of a calendar image, still hangs above his mother’s piano—a tribute to beginnings, both artistic and personal.
Today, David paints from his home studio in Quartz Hill, where he lives with his wife and daughter. His artwork celebrates the quiet poetry of nature—inviting the viewer to pause, breathe, and look more closely.
